The Canon M50 uses a unique LP-E12 rechargeable lithium-ion battery for power, and ships with a dedicated battery charger. Battery life is substantially below average for a mirrorless camera, CIPA-rated at only 235 shots per charge when using either the EVF or LCD. The camera does, however, have an Eco mode that allows the user to increase the number of images that can be taken on a single charge up to 370. Still, we strongly urge you to pick up a second battery and have it freshly charged and on hand.
